I was rewatching the Blue Beetle trailer and that line about “Batman is a fascist” really stuck out to me. Not just the obvious of how stupid the line was, but is there a deeper reveal to it? The DCEU is once again under new management in James Gunn. He started with a new slate of movies that will showcase the extended superheroes and not just the big 3. We already know Ben Affleck isn’t returning as Batman, and Robert Pattinson’s Batman isn’t part of this universe, so they will recast right?

Is it possible that there will be a new direction for that Batman as well? Maybe one similar to the Justice Lords Batman, who operates in a more authoritarianism ideology. Maybe, this Batman is a fascist, and the Blue Beetle line wasn’t just a failed attempt at humor.
