Will Oppenheimer Be Nominated?

Oppenheimer just came out and is being hailed as an absolute success. People call it the best movie of the year and worthy of the Best Picture Award at the Oscars. However, the movie has a lack of diversity in it. Why is that a big deal, you ask? Because to be nominated for Best Picture, the movie must fit specific diversity requirements.

Per Deadline: https://deadline.com/2023/05/academy-town-hall-clarifies-new-oscar-inclusion-standards-initiative-members-1235361722/

Standard A centers around on-screen representation and can be achieved in three ways, either by having:

-At least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.

-At least 30% of all actors in secondary and more minor roles are from at least two underrepresented groups.

-The main storyline(s), theme or narrative of the film is centered on an underrepresented group(s).

Will this rule also apply to actors winning individual awards as well? Can Cillian Murphy be left out of the nominations because someone from an unrepresented minority group must be inserted to meet specific unrealistic diversity quotas?

The downfall of Hollywood and the Oscars is apparent from their massive number of flops at the box office. The Oscars have been losing viewers for the past few years, so much so that the awards might be streamed online instead of on a tv channel.

I predict that a new awards show will be created in a year or two that will surpass the Oscars because it won’t cater to diversity as a requirement, and the actors winning awards won’t pander or play politics while accepting awards.

Will Oppenheimer be nominated for Best Picture? Will Cillian Murphy be snubbed? You tell me.
