Disney’s Gun-Free Stand with The Acolyte

While it may surprise some, I commend Disney’s decision to exclude guns in their upcoming project, “The Acolyte.” Bob Iger, the current CEO of Disney, has previously voiced his concerns regarding gun ownership in America. I remember thinking then, “If Disney truly believes this, then it should reflect in their content.” I believe in “figuratively” sticking to your guns on your beliefs, and if Iger has such a strong opinion on gun ownership, then he shouldn’t be able to make content with guns in it.

There are whispers in the industry that “The Acolyte” might not even reach streaming platforms, given the challenges Disney has faced with some of its recent ventures. While some argue it might be financially prudent for Disney to abandon the project and capitalize on potential tax breaks, the eventual fate of “The Acolyte” remains to be seen. However, regardless of the project’s outcome, I appreciate Disney’s commitment to its convictions.
