Terminator How Do We Win

I never understand how humans survived so long in the Terminator Universe.

Is Terminator Due for a Multiverse

Every Terminator Movie, Ranked Worst To Best (Including Dark Fate)

I made a video giving a reason of why I think the Marvel and DC multiverses exist and why both companies are exploring their multiverses in upcoming movies. I believe they want to create one linear timeline going forward which can easily explain away all other movies before their cinematic universes were made.

So that being said, is it time for Terminator to do the same? Yea I know, the Terminator movies haven’t been very good since Judgement Day and the new ones are just trying to reboot the franchises hoping they’d resonate with the fans in some way.

A Terminator multiverse would actually make sense in the scope of the franchise. With all the different reboots and sequels that make little sense, would a multiverse tying everything together actually work? I know it won’t be as iconic as all the Spider-Men from previous movies coming together in one scene, but is it possible they can string together some semblance of a story to tie all these movies into one?

Realistically the studio has 4 choices.

1 Stop making the moves all together and maybe reboot it 10 years when everyone gets the ad taste of Dark Fate out of their mouth.

2 Reboot the franchise for another time and hope it doesn’t fail. You would have to since Dark Fate did so poorly in the box office and reviews. It wouldn’t make sense financially for a studio to green light a sinking ship

3 Move the story forward past the events of Judgment Day and never speak again of time travel. Terminator Salvation I thought was a really cool movie. Sure, they gave away the biggest reveal in the trailer, but besides that it was a fresh take on the franchise

4 Create a multiverse. I mean what makes more sense. A supersmart robot organization created time travel and would send back robots to destroy the savior of the human race or that a wizard screwed up a forget me spell that split open the fabric of reality and sent forth specific versions of the main character? It kind of seems a little weird when you think of it like that.

I guess I would like to see the franchise continue from Salvation and we get the full man vs machine type of showdown we are always teased in the opening moments, but that’s not what Terminator is about. It’s about seeing the savior of humanity as someone who isn’t ready yet to do that. Watching them rise and fall and try theirs best to come into that future role of themselves. Realizing that at an early age that their lives would never be the same and they have to adapt to a future they can’t stop from coming.

I don’t think the studio can keep throwing money at a dying franchise. Everyone who was fortunate enough to view the original movies can see that new ones don’t hit the mark in the trailers and don’t bother to see them. So, who are they making these movies for? They either need a real solid plan to move this franchise forward or kill it entirely.

But what do you think of a Terminator Multiverse and where do you see this franchise going?
