Defending the Stun Gun Ending

Wrestling fans and wrestlers alike seem to agree that Goldberg losing to Kevin Nash after getting tazed was a bad idea; however, I loved the ending and thought it made the most sense. At that time, Goldberg was 173-0 in his WCW career, and it would take a lot more than interference to make him lose at that time.

I didn’t hate the ending, but I hated what happened afterward. Kevin Nash lost to Hulk Hogan with the Finger Poke of Doom, and we didn’t see Goldberg get his title back. I would’ve ended Goldberg’s streak with the taser ending and then have him beat down worse than anyone ever has in WCW. Thrown through a table, every member of the nWo hitting their finishers on Goldberg and him being off TV for a very long time.

Then, have him return with a vengeance and reclaim his title, but that didn’t happen. Goldberg lost to Kevin Nash on December 27, 1998, and didn’t miss any time afterward. Not even a week, and Goldberg was back on TV.

As a wrestling fan, I’ve seen many matches end because of outside interference, but usually, they lead to something bigger and have a more satisfying ending. Moves like these ultimately led to the downfall of the WCW.

WWE Releases

The WWE releases have started, and the only surprising names so far for me are Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin. Sadly, I always felt like both men were underappreciated talents, but the rosters are too stacked at the moment for either man to make a significant impact. The rest of the releases aren’t surprising to me. Elias, Rick Boogs, Shanky, and others haven’t made a dent on any show.

Mansoor and Mace were a dead-on-arrival idea, Dana Brooks hasn’t done anything in years, Dabba-Kato was the product of bad creative, and Quency Elliott….come on. Did they really think that gimmick was gonna work? Riddick Moss was a surprise but not unexpected. He hasn’t had a meaningful feud in a year.

I do wonder what major stars are on the chopping block. I find it hard to believe that the WWE has 5 shows (Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Main Event, and Level Up) and still can’t make many of these diamond-in-the-rough stars into something bigger. Ultimately, this comes down to money, and the WWE doesn’t see a need to pay for a wrestler who isn’t making a significant impact or selling merchandise.

Gresham Wants Out

If I was Gresham I would want to leave too. There is 0 direction with ROH. No tv deal, no weekly schedule, just random PPVs with very little story or interest. Why wouldn’t he want to leave? Obviously, his main destination would be the WWE.

I would give Gresham a royal treatment, a title shot against the NXT champion after a few months and have him hold the title for about a year and move him to the main roster. There’s a lot of great opponents for Gresham. Dolph Ziggler, Tommaso Ciampa, Finn Balor, there’s a lot for Gresham to do in the main roster.

The WWE should jump at the chance to grab a unique veteran like Gresham who is looking for a spotlight and not to be featured once every other month. I hope the release happens soon and we can get those dream matches.

Dabba-Kato : Missing Direction

Who is Dabba-Kato? WWE star Babatunde Aiyegbusi at WrestleMania 37 | Metro News

I’m calling him Dabba-Kato instead of his ridiculous Commander Azereal or some crap like that. Kato might be the biggest waste of a main roster talent in a while. I don’t know if they have been grooming him for years as the big muscle and are looking for the right time to unleash him. AEW’s Wardlow is a good parallel, where we only got samples and now they’re looking to push him to stardom.

RAW Underground was a smart idea. Underground street fights and building up Kato as the monster down there. And then he had a main roster match against Braun Strowman and that was it for him. Kato was knocking out opponents in the Underground and took a simple powerslam and that was it?

5 Opponents for Dabba Kato on RAW Underground

Now he’s just an African commander of what? Its not like Apollo Crews has a faction and Kato is there to ring in the members. He’s just the muscle in a horribly fitting jacket. If Crews did have a big faction that would’ve been cool. A group of 5-7 members in traditional African garbs, all with unique moves and finishers and whose goal it is to beat everyone in the WWE, much like Roman Reign’s Tribal Chief run, a championship run about respect and power.

So, in this pretend faction, you can use it to build up unknown wrestlers and still have Kato as the bruiser of the group. Maybe at one point do his finisher on members who “failed” Crews. Fail to win the titles and Kato gives you the Samoan Spike or throws you through a table.

Will Mahoney on Twitter: "Week Two Dabba Kato > Week One Dabba Kato. #RAWUnderground #WWERaw… "

I don’t really understand anything of these two men at this time. Just seems like another good idea on paper by WWE creative that didn’t blossom into anything of substance. Which is the trend now with the company.

So where do you see Dabba-Kato and Apollo Crews going forward?

Luchasaurus : Turn Heel?

Luchasaurus News, Pictures, Videos and Biography News, Pictures, Videos, Stats and Biography - AEW

Is it bad that I want Luchasaurus to turn heel on Jungle Boy? I predict his heel turn to look similar to Tommaso Ciampa turning on Johnny Gargano. Maybe have the Jurassic Express win the tag titles, Jungle Boy getting pinned and Luchasaurus taking his frustrations out on him. Setting up for a series of matches that will end in Jungle Boy becoming victorious.

Tommaso Ciampa and the 10 Most Heartbreaking WWE Heel Turns of All Time | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights

Luchasaurus is a good wrestler, but I don’t see him as AEW Champion the way he is now. A heel turn would give him that extra edge and put him on a path of his own. The problem is does Luchasaurus have enough to be a singles star? Is he someone that can realistically survive in AEW on his own?

Tucker and Otis

Who Will Win WWE Elimination Chamber: Heavy Machinery - The Overtimer

What a wasted opportunity. Their lack of NXT Tag Titles or Tag Titles on the main roster showed that they were never a realistic team in the eyes of the creative team? Now Otis finally achieved gold teaming with Chad Gable and Tucker has been long released.

Tucker was poised for a great run by betraying Otis and seemingly joining the Miz and John Morrison. Which I think didn’t last longer than that brief moment of betrayal. The idea of Tucker being the muscle for a team that is primarily not a threat to the landscape of the WWE was actually a good idea, but as usual a lot of creative ideas in the past few years.

When WWE Decided Tucker Would Turn On Otis & Help Miz Win Money In The Bank

And so many things could’ve been done with Tucker moving forward. Even if you didn’t see him as world champion, he still could’ve been something. Shelton Benjamin might be the biggest world champion snub in WWE history, but he’s had a massively impressive career. Big spots in Money in the Bank matches and always a filler in the Royal Rumble and can easily be the second or third in a faction. Tucker had a lot of potential when he turned on Otis. Otis had a lot of potential after that betrayal as well. But the WWE saw Otis as a singles star and concocted a ridiculous storyline where he ends up in a relationship with Mandy Rose. Which was another storyline that was pushed on us for weeks and weeks and after WrestleMania the idea was scrapped.

Tucker and Otis were the products of horrible writing. Honestly, I wouldn’t have moved them up to the main roster when they did. No team should be moved to the main roster without a title run. I don’t think I really even believed in the tag team as a massive threat. I felt like Otis now is a better wrestler than he was a few years ago. But the duo was still a better choice for tag champions than Miz and Morrison, or the Usos and The New Day for the hundredth time.

Mojo Rawley I Had High Hopes

Mojo Rawley Provides Update On His Wrestling Future

I actually watched a lot of Mojo Rawley’s matches on Main Event and thought he was soon going to have a main roster opportunity again. I would’ve paired Rawley with Constable Corbin and they would be the muscle for then general manager Stephanie McMahan. I always imaged they would have the combo of Rawley’s corner elbow and tossing the opponent into the End of Days.

I never understood why the WWE forgot about Rawley. Even going as far to have him bring that up the Shane mentioning that he was forgotten, a segment that led to nothing. Even though I never really saw Rawley as a face of the company type, I still saw him as someone who can round out a stable or be a nice addition to Money in the bank matches and Royal Rumbles.

What do you think of Mojo Rawley and what went wrong in his WWE career?

Slapjack It Worked

Who is Slapjack? WWE's RETRIBUTION star Shane Thorne at Hell In A Cell | Metro News

When Shane Torne became Slapjack, it was probably the best thing that could’ve happened to him. The whole team Retribution was a failed experiment from the start, but Thorne becoming Slapjack took him to the next level.  I thought Torne was “ok” on NXT. When he teamed with Nick Miller, it wasn’t box office. It was good wrestling, but it wasn’t anything to stay up late for. But Thorne was the bright spot on that team.

Becoming Slapjack made him more brutal. He became this unleashed animal that actually showed signs of a main roster mid card run. He spent the majority of these impressive moments on Main Event, which even though a lot of people don’t watch, I still do. And for the first time I enjoyed watching Slapjack. With Retribution now broken up and after his release, I think he should keep the Slapjack persona wherever he goes. Id like to see him on Impact Wrestling, but what do you guys think of Slapjack and who would you want him to fight?

WWE 2K22

Surprising WWE 2K22 Release Date Announced Plus New Info

I’m hearing bad rumors about the new WWE 2K22. Since the failure of 2K20 and Battlegrounds, the decision has been made to reinvent the wheel and model their game after No Mercy which was released in 2000 for the N64.

Sports games are some of the easiest games to shoot out. Fans are just paying for an updated roster, new moves, and graphics. We aren’t asking the gaming companies to do anything too drastic. I know I can’t speak for all wrestling game fans, but I don’t need much to make me happy. The best addition to the games is the community creations.

AEW Video Game To Be Better Than WWE 2K Series?

The WWE should embrace AEW as a marketable tool. I still play 2K19 all the time, my created wrestler slots are completely filled with AEW, Impact and NJPW wrestlers from the community creations. The WWE should make it even easier to bring wrestlers from other promotions into this game. Give us all their moves, give us the ability make their gear, give us a ton of slots to build a massive roster. How is this bad for the WWE? Honestly, if their game is better than AEW’s and has the ability to bring in all their wrestlers, then why wouldn’t fans buy this game over theirs?

The WWE’s problem since AEW’s creation has been competition, but making your enemy an asset without having to lose anything is a win.

What do you think?

I’m Ready To Get Hurt Again

I think the WWE is doing everything right with Goldberg vs Bobby Lashley. The setup is tremendous. Making it a non-title match is a smart idea because Goldberg as champion now wouldn’t make sense. The Extreme Rules match will add a lot of creativity to it and take the pressure off the aging Goldberg. The Hurt Business and Goldberg’s son can interfere without a DQ. And I already figured out the perfect ending.

  • A pair of tables is set up outside the ring
  • Cedric Alexander gets tossed from the ring into the tables outside
  • Shelton Benjamin springboards into a Goldberg Spear
  • Goldberg taunts
  • Lashley grabs him from behind and administers the Hurt Lock
  • Goldberg’s son low blows Lashley
  • Goldberg hits the spear and pins Lashley with the Jackhammer for the win

Not a bad ending to the feud. Goldberg isn’t the same as he was in WCW or his short first time in the WWE. An Extreme Rules match like this can give Goldberg more to do with weapons and Lashley and the rest of the Hurt Business can take more of the hits.

Will it be a good match? We’ll know in a few weeks. Let me know what you guys think of the match ending and what’s next for these 2 wrestlers.
